Our Products

For Anudando it is extremely important that each product made and designed by us carries a story, from the origin of the material, to the making, its journey and purpose of use. Thus providing a better understanding of the work that is being done through its making process, as well as to represent the added value, with the means to create a stronger relationship between object and user.

Renacimiento

Renacimiento is our first line of products, the name given due to the nature of the process and material used for the making of the textile. The technique used is “Precious Waste” from Dutch designer Michelle Baggerman. The process consists of the optimal reuse of plastic carrier bags from stores and supermarkets, that are transformed by using craft techniques into a textile. We currently collect the bags in Mexico City, the material is then selected, prepared and taken to different communities of the State of Mexico,Querétaro and Michoacán, and finally back to Anudando´s headquarters, where it is turned into the finished product.

Küni

Küni ́s product line is born from the interest of the promotion and rescue of textile crafts from the state of Querétaro. Fundación La Rústica, Anudando and textile design students from Universidad Iberoamericana collaborated for the development of this line of products. Küni is a line of textile products for cooking and dining with traditional Otomí embroidery and a contemporary twist.

The makers behind this product line are ladies with Otomí origins from Santiago Mexquititlan, Querétaro who have become detached from their native roots due to racism and westernisation. Additionally, standing loom weavers from Gualupita Estado de México, and Uruapan, Michoacan.

Note:

Küni ́s products are made with 100% cotton. The external layer is woven on a standing loom with natural mexican organic cotton. This is important for  Anudando, as we want all of our products not to lose the potential to be recycled or to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

 Tuntixtila

Tuntixtila means “Fine Pine” in Zapoteco, a native language from the regions of Oaxaca. The aim of this product line is to highlight the most exquisite material qualities of used wood through simple and bold design.

All the wood that we use its either reused and found in neighbouring tips; comes from trimmings or it is second quality wood from well managed forest plantations in the Southeast of Mexico.

All our products are free from nails and screws. We use traditional joinery techniques to make the products and to finish them, we make our own organic wax and finishings.

Agua y Concreto

"Agua y Concreto" stands for "Water and Concrete". This is the theme used for the colour pallets in our range of 100% wool rugs and cushions.

All the products from this range are 100% handmade, woven using a traditional standing loom from the community of Colon, in the Mexican region of Queretaro. We work very closely with a cooperative of craftsmen run by the master weaver Jose Vega. This cooperative was originated from the interest of helping preserve this craft by the local government two years ago.

Only women signed up to the project, therefore the coop is almost solely female, very unusual for this male-operated craft.

This collection of rugs and cushions 100% wool was born from the collaboration between Hauskaa and Anudando.

Inspired by geometric details of modern and ancient architecture, the collection reflects shapes and shades of aquatic ecosystems. It is a cosy and contemporary collection, ideal for your living room or lounge. The natural colours of the wool provide warmth, while the geometric and linear patterns with blue tones and mustards highlight the modernity of a space in a subtle and comforting way.
